Modern Villa in Netherlands Evokes Minimalist Gallery

A bungalow in Bilthoven, The Netherlands, designed by Dutch architect Van der Woerd in the late 1950s, was given a makeover by Lab32 architects. The resulting Villa Van Schijndel showcases a highly modern design whose interiors are oriented toward the large garden, pool and poolhouse.

The designers employed large expanses of glass to connect the modern villa with the outdoors. Other exterior materials included white plaster, zinc cladding and natural grey aluminum window frames. Simple lines throughout create a clean composition that redirects attention toward the surrounding landscape.
