While dean at Huston-Tillotson University, Jeff Wilson spent his time living in a dumpster. Despite the small space, Jeff found big inspiration that prompted him to create the future of minimal living.

In 2015, he started Kasita; an Austin-based company that builds prefabricated homes that have the option to be stacked to create an apartment building. Each home will be sold for $139,000 and has just 352 sq ft of space but there’s already a waiting list! A fee of $1,000 gets you onto the list and the first of the homes begin shipping out to customers in June.

Each home has a kitchen, sleeping space, storage, a bathroom, and a small raised living room. Large windows on one end of the home help to make the home feel bigger than it is.

I have very similar layout design like it using 4m*6m with the sofa converted into bed underneath the work and wardrobe area. I don't like put bed underneath the kitchen because all the piping go under it. I also like section platform on different area so it makes feel like had own space.
I love design tiny space to make it fully used but not claustrophobic for the person lived in it. I have nearly hundred of sketch designs hopefully can be used one day!!

  17. I reckon that if Ikea would make tiny houses, they would be able to sell this house (built and delivered) for 30,000$ and still make decent profit.
DIY set sold for 20k which you can build your self in two weeks flat out.

  18. Love it. But it needs solar panels and energy independent to be truely modern.

  19. Over priced but pretty

  20. Yeah….when I saw the price, I didn't even continue watching the video. The price defeats the whole purpose of a tiny house.

  21. I would need to see n person if I would pay that much for this I like it wish it was about 5 ft wider,

  22. Check out Honomobo out of Canada. For that Price you get 850 square feet with ALL fixtures included.
