Interior Design — A Charming Family Home Makeover

Designer Sabrina Spezio gives us a peek inside her sleek-yet-charming house on the south shore of Montreal. See how she transformed a dark and closed-off space into a bright, modern and inviting hub to fit her family’s lifestyle.

Sabrina’s main goal was to open up the floor plan to create a spacious look. She started by tearing down the wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room. Next, she replaced the small window in the kitchen with an oversized patio door leading to the backyard for additional natural light. The mudroom was transformed into a walk-in pantry and custom cabinetry was added in the kitchen to maximize storage. Upstairs, the bathroom was expanded to house a freestanding tub, a walk-in shower and a long vanity. In Sabrina’s son’s bedroom, the two-season sunroom can now be used year round.

  1. Love the luminosity of the space, the whole house feels so airy and uncluttered. I would love a house like hers, exactly my kind of style too 🙂

  2. Nice ..well done

  3. No color is the modern approach I believe
Most of the H&H videos feature white houses with less or no hint of colours

  4. I like the clean uncluttered minimalist approach. However, I would have liked to see more paintings on the walls since you went with white. White give the designer the opportunity to make the walls into art galleries.

  5. the bathroom and the picture over the console!

  6. SO gorgeous!! 😍😍😍😍

  7. Working at a paint store I am so sick of home owner wanting a white home, white is no longer hip or modern. That is my little rant for night.

  8. Where can I get that beach print from? It's beautiful!

  9. The bathroom turned amazing specially the colors are on point absolutely inspiring

  10. I had a 'grey period' somewhere in my adolesence but I'm starting to rediscover the (non)colour. The mix with metallic elements (silver, gold or even copper) is very interesting. And, of course, polished concrete will always be my favorite, although it's a bit rough, a bit masculin, elementary and for that it doesn't go everywhere or with any kind of personality. In this clip grey is used in a more feminine interpretation and, in my oppinion, it's a succes.

  11. I love to see homes that are not the size of a mansion but can still look grand. This home was done nicely. I'd love to see the outside of the home.
