Freedom by Minimalist Homes | Shipping Container House
Milford, Michigan-based Minimalist Homes built the Freedom shipping container house using a minimalist industrial theme to reduce its impact on the environment. The 40′ high-cube container house is 8′ wide and 9.5′ tall, providing an extra foot of height compared to standard containers.

The exterior is a sleek, dark gray with reclaimed wood trim around the doors. A roof deck with railings creates a great outdoor spot. The walls are insulated with R-21 closed cell spray foam, and the ceiling is insulated with R-49. The house is heated with an electric Fujitsu mini split system and has a 30 seer rating, which is one of the most energy efficient tiny homes on the market!

Inside the Freedom are hardwood floors, reclaimed wood accent pieces, and a main floor bedroom with a raised bed platform. The kitchen has modern cabinets, granite counters, and full size stainless steel appliances including a four burner electric stove and washer/dryer combo.

The Freedom starts at $50,000 delivered.

FAIL! Clean with Me – POWER HOUR | Minimalist Home

I attempted a “power hour” and failed 🙁 I thought an hour would be plenty ...

I like the woodwork, but hate the lights and bedroom. I am sure better quality fixtures could be found for less than the cost of the industrial styled lights. It is what it is when you have 8 feet wide to work with! That is why I want to go 3 X 40-foot high cube containers side by side. Two bedrooms on one end some 20 feet long will give the room a person needs in one bedroom, and enough room for fostering kittens in the other room.

  2. " The Freedom starts at $50,000 delivered." Nice markup and a fine way for any contractor to make side money. I suggest offering office conversions too as containers work very well as jobsite structures.
