The objective of this video is to find out permanent action on edge column at ground floor. Very first, the video introduces the schematic diagram of the structure to illustrate what is happening. The column (C1) at ground floor takes load from the girder. The earlier videos show how different loads transmit from slabs to joists & then joists to girder. The video, then, shows the consideration of slab underneath the edge column (C1) to demonstrate the permanent action on it at ground floor.

Moving on, the video shows the calculation of permanent actions of edge column (C1) for single story that equals the sum of permanent action from girder B2, permanent actions from edge girder B3 and the self-weight of the column. The video shows the individual calculation of each section and finally calculate the total permanent actions on edge column at ground floor by multiplying ten with the calculated load for single story because of being the office building ten-storied.
